Gadi Eisenkot Slams Netanyahu, Calls PM's Son 'Toxic Political Player'

Gadi Eisenkot, chairman of the Yishar party, launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his son, Yair Netanyahu, during a cultural event in Rishon LeZion. Eisenkot accused the Prime Minister of exhibiting "complete insensitivity" on October 7th, claiming Netanyahu failed to speak with the IDF Chief of Staff for several hours during the initial attack. Eisenkot drew a parallel to Golda Meir's response during the Yom Kippur War, noting she was at her office within twenty minutes.

Eisenkot also criticized Yair Netanyahu, referring to him as a "toxic political player" who should be expelled from Israeli public life. He contrasted Yair's alleged avoidance of military service with the loss of his own son and nephews in combat. Eisenkot stated that Yair's constant spread of lies about him and his family makes him a harmful figure in public discourse.

Looking ahead, Eisenkot hinted at upcoming "political surprises" within the next three to fifty-three days, expressing confidence that his bloc would win the next elections with over 60 mandates. He emphasized his commitment to leading with decision-making capabilities and building a winning political platform.

Regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Eisenkot voiced opposition to Israel ruling over 2.2 million Palestinians, stating it would be the "end of the Zionist enterprise." He supported settlement activity only if it aligns with national interests and the law. Eisenkot also advocated for improving Palestinian self-governance and quality of life, while maintaining Israel's security responsibility to prevent terrorism and ensure the IDF is the sole military force between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea.
