Red Star Belgrade Planned to Sell Abu Fani, Luyizus, But No Offers Came

Serbian club Red Star Belgrade intended to sell midfielder Moammed Abu Fani and defender Luyizus Luyizus during the recent transfer window, according to Serbian reports. The club aimed to reduce its squad size, ease pressure in the locker room, and cut costs. A total of seven players were reportedly available for transfer, but the club did not receive satisfactory offers for any of them.

Abu Fani, formerly of Maccabi Haifa and Hapoel Tel Aviv, and Luyizus joined Red Star Belgrade in the summer transfer window. Despite the club's initial plans, both players are now registered for the Europa Conference League and will remain with the team. The club's difficult start to the season, including elimination from Champions League qualifiers by Hapoel Be'er Sheva and a Europa League loss to Viktoria Plzen, led to the dismissal of coach Dejan Stankovic and subsequent squad evaluations.
