Islamic Jihad Claims Israeli-Backed Militia Attempted Kidnapping in Khan Yunis
The military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad organization reported early Tuesday that militias, allegedly operating with Israeli backing, attempted to abduct one of its operatives in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza.
According to the Islamic Jihad, the operative was killed during an exchange of fire following the attempted kidnapping. The group claimed the operation took place around 3:30 AM and involved Israeli drones providing support.
The Islamic Jihad did not provide further details regarding the identity of the operative or the specific militias involved. Israel has not officially commented on the incident.
