Gag Order Issued on Investigation of Jerusalem Stabbing Attempt
A Jerusalem Magistrate's Court has imposed a sweeping gag order on the investigation into an attempted stabbing attack near the Damascus Gate in Jerusalem's Old City. The order, effective until early October 2026, prohibits the publication of any details concerning the ongoing probe.
The investigation is being led by the Central Unit of the Jerusalem District police. Security forces are working to clarify all circumstances and the background of the security incident.
The attack occurred early Friday morning when an assailant from East Jerusalem approached fighters at the Damascus Gate and attempted to stab them. The fighters responded by shooting and neutralizing the attacker at the scene. One person was lightly injured and evacuated to Shaare Zedek Medical Center.
