Libi Alon, News 14’s correspondent in Washington, shared a personal update on Tuesday that drew strong reactions from followers. In a video, she said that since moving to the United States she has become more observant and closer to Judaism, and that after relocating to a new apartment she decided to take another step she had never taken before.
Alon said she asked a Chabad emissary to come to her home and kosher the kitchen fully. She noted that she used to keep Shabbat in the past and enjoyed it, and described the latest move as part of an ongoing religious strengthening process.
The footage she posted showed the Chabad representative pouring hot water on the countertop as part of the kitchen kashrut process. Alon joked, “Now are you also washing my whole kitchen for me?” After that, the emissary affixed a mezuzah to her doorway.
Alon wrote in excitement, “Now it is official, a kosher Jewish home!” and said she would continue updating followers on the process and on the changes in her life.
