Rabbi Moshe Sternbuch Sings Ancient Melody During High Holy Days Visitations

The residence of Rabbi Moshe Sternbuch, a prominent rabbinic decisor, is experiencing a surge of visitors as the High Holy Days approach. Thousands of Jewish people, including Hasidic rebbes, rabbis, and community leaders from various backgrounds, are visiting his Jerusalem home to seek blessings for the new year.

This week, Rabbi Sternbuch was visited by the Grand Rabbi of Makov, who came to receive a New Year's blessing. After the Makov Rabbi presented a "kvitel" (a note with names for blessings), Rabbi Sternbuch began singing the ancient melody "If you say my feet falter, may Your kindness support me." He continued with the uplifting tune "What advantage does man have in all his toil," a melody rooted in tradition and composed by the late Rabbi Baruch Ber Leibowitz.

Numerous other prominent Hasidic leaders were also seen at Rabbi Sternbuch's residence in recent days. These included the rebbes of Tolded Aaron, Dzhikov, Vizhnitz, Mebakesh Emunah, Strykov, Vorki, Furishov, and Ungvar, as well as Rabbi Sinai Halberstam and Rabbi Boruch Sternbuch, among other leading rabbis and arbiters of Jewish law. All received blessings for the coming year and, in turn, offered their blessings to Rabbi Sternbuch for a long life of health and spiritual strength.
