Army Shoots Palestinians After Settlers Invade Village

The Israeli military shot and wounded Palestinians in the West Bank village of Deir al-Hatab on Friday, following an invasion by Israeli settlers. This incident marks the third time in a week that Palestinians have been shot by the army in the context of settler activity.

According to Palestinian reports, dozens of settlers from the Elon Moreh settlement entered Deir al-Hatab, located east of Nablus, and began throwing stones at Palestinian homes. During the ensuing confrontation, Israeli soldiers present at the scene fired live ammunition, injuring at least two Palestinians. One of the injured sustained a gunshot wound to the leg, while the other was hit in the abdomen.

The Palestinian Red Crescent reported treating the wounded individuals, who were then evacuated to a local hospital. This event follows similar incidents earlier in the week where settlers attacked Palestinian villages, and the army responded with live fire, resulting in casualties.

Local Palestinian sources stated that the settlers' actions were intended to provoke a confrontation, and that the army's response escalated the situation. The Israeli military has not yet released a statement regarding the specific events in Deir al-Hatab on Friday.
