Max Heidegger Signs with Bulgarian Team Amidst Contract Dispute

American basketball player Max Heidegger has reportedly traveled to Sofia, Bulgaria, to join a local team, despite an ongoing contract dispute with Israeli club Bnei Herzeliya. Heidegger, who has a contract with Herzeliya through the end of the season, is said to have agreed to terms with Hapoel Tel Aviv, even undergoing medical tests. However, Bnei Herzeliya maintains that Heidegger is still under contract and cannot play for another team this season, citing a clause that allows him to move only to overseas clubs. Herzeliya chairman Eldad Akunis stated that Heidegger had previously left during wartime and returned, with his release card reverting to the club. He also noted that Heidegger's contract includes an exit clause solely for international teams. Akunis expressed confidence that arbitration would uphold Herzeliya's position, preventing Heidegger from playing for another team this season, and suggested Hapoel Tel Aviv might be mistaken about their ability to sign him.
