Road Fatalities Surge in Israel, August Deadliest Month in 22 Years
August marked the deadliest month for road accidents in Israel this year, and the worst August in the past 22 years, with 44 fatalities.
Since the start of 2024, 303 people have died on Israeli roads, comprising 246 men and 57 women. The grim tally increased yesterday with three additional deaths: an elderly woman in her 80s struck by a vehicle in Tel Aviv, and two men in their 30s and 40s killed in an accident on Route 675 in the Jezreel Valley. Overnight, a motorcyclist around 30 years old died in an accident on Route 1 near Ma'ale Adumim.
