Veteran Radio Hosts Sharon Tayecher and Eran Zarchovitch to End Long-Running Show

Veteran Israeli radio personalities Sharon Tayecher and Eran Zarchovitch announced they will broadcast their final show on Tuesday, September 8th, concluding 21 years on air. The duo, who initially announced their departure from Radio Tel Aviv in mid-July, clarified in a detailed post that they are not moving to another radio station or a podcast format, but are bidding farewell to the program entirely.

Their shared journey began with "Tziporei Layla Menakrot" on Galei Tzahal (Army Radio), followed by "Ha'Erev" on Radio Tel Aviv, a return to Galei Tzahal for "Hotrim La'Magia," and their most recent 11-year tenure at Radio Tel Aviv. Tayecher and Zarchovitch expressed satisfaction in ending their run as friends, having started as 30-year-olds driven by their friendship and passion for making each other laugh. They decided to conclude the show while it remains popular and well-listened to, aiming to leave a positive memory.

The hosts, addressing their dedicated listeners as "members of the 'Khet' club," highlighted that their greatest joy came from connecting with listeners and offering support during difficult times. They promised a large, organized farewell event on stage soon to celebrate their 21 years of work with colleagues, friends, and fans.

This departure occurs amidst significant changes at Radio Tel Aviv, which is transitioning into a music-focused station. The station has experienced unprecedented structural shifts, including the end of Ofira Asayag's sports program after nearly two decades and the departure of Nelli Tagar and Liron Vaytsman. These changes follow management upheaval related to the Didi Harari affair and the appointment of Eldad Koblenz as a special advisor. As part of efficiency measures, the station has also introduced "Odelia AI," its first Hebrew-speaking artificial intelligence announcer.

Radio Tel Aviv initially stated in July that the split was mutual, stemming from the station's shift to a musical format after 11 successful years with Tayecher and Zarchovitch, and wished them success.
