Veteran Radio Hosts Teicher and Zarchovich End 21-Year Partnership
Veteran Israeli radio hosts Sharon Teicher and Eran Zarchovich have announced the end of their joint program after 21 years, contrary to earlier expectations that they would continue broadcasting together elsewhere. The final episode will air this coming Tuesday.
Initially, it was reported in July that the duo would be leaving Radio Tel Aviv after 11 years but would continue their collaboration on a different platform. However, Teicher and Zarchovich have now clarified that they have decided not to move the program to another station or podcast.
In a Facebook post, they stated, "At this stage, we have decided not to continue to other stations or podcasts and to say goodbye to the program." They described their decision as "time to close our cookie jar and say goodbye to the program."
The hosts' radio journey began 21 years ago on "Tziporei Layla Menakrot" on Galei Tzahal, continued through "The Evening Program" on Radio Tel Aviv and "Hoterim La'Maga" on Galei Tzahal, and for the past 11 years, on their show "Teicher and Zarchovich" on Radio Tel Aviv.
Despite ending the program, the hosts emphasized that their personal friendship remains strong, stating, "We are happy that we are managing to finish after exactly two decades in the same state we started: two friends who love to make each other laugh."
A farewell event is planned to commemorate their 21 years together, featuring guests, friends, and music from their show's history.
