Quality of Government Movement Slams High Court Over Shin Bet List Demand

The Movement for Quality of Government in Israel has strongly criticized a Supreme Court decision compelling former Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) officials to reveal their identities. The organization is urging the current Shin Bet chief, David Zini, to act responsibly and waive his demand for the names of 186 former agents who opposed his appointment.

The movement argues that insisting on revealing these identities deepens internal divisions within the Shin Bet, erodes public trust, and distracts the agency from its crucial security missions. They warn that exposing the names could lead to personal and professional retribution against those who merely exercised their right to petition the court.

"Zini must stop harming the Shin Bet and allow his people to concentrate on defending the country's security," the movement stated. "The Shin Bet must not become a tool for deterring and persecuting those who criticize the government or its head."

This controversy follows a dramatic Supreme Court ruling concerning David Zini's appointment, which occurred within the past week.
