Rabbis Call for Saturday Protest Against New Business in Bnei Brak

Rabbis in Bnei Brak are urging the public to participate in a large-scale demonstration this coming Saturday, protesting the opening of a new business in the city that will operate on the Sabbath. The rabbis have issued a strong warning, describing the situation as a "severe breach in the city's walls not seen in decades."

According to a statement distributed to residents, attempts to resolve the issue through legal channels with relevant authorities have been unsuccessful, leading to the decision to hold a public protest. The demonstration is scheduled to take place near the end of the Sabbath, with attendees encouraged to attend early prayers and gather around 7:00 PM.

In conjunction with the protest, members of the Gur Hasidic community are organizing a group trip to Jerusalem following the demonstration. This trip is in preparation for the first session of "Slichot" prayers, a penitential service recited during the High Holy Days, which will be held at the community's hall.

The rabbis emphasize that the protest is a fight for the character of Bnei Brak and the sanctity of the Sabbath, urging all who are concerned to attend and prevent the business from opening on Shabbat.
