Israelis Lead Cyprus Tourist Spending, Outpacing All Other Nationalities

Israeli tourists are the most financially active visitors to Cyprus, spending significantly more per day than travelers from any other country. According to official statistics from the Cyprus Central Statistical Bureau for June 2026, Israelis spent an average of 174.27 euros per day. This figure surpasses that of Norwegians, who ranked second, by nearly 30 euros daily. For comparison, British tourists, who constitute the largest group of visitors, spend an average of 104 euros per day. Polish tourists spend around 84 euros, Greeks 76.6 euros, Finns 70.7 euros, and Americans just 62 euros daily.

In addition to their high spending, Israelis represent a substantial portion of the island's tourism market. In June, they accounted for 16.4% of all visitors, and this number rose to 20.5% in July, second only to the British.

Interestingly, this high spending is coupled with shorter stays. While the average British tourist stays 8.2 days, Israelis typically take much shorter trips, averaging just 3.9 days. This pattern of brief, high-intensity visits with significant expenditure makes the Israeli market highly valuable to Cyprus's tourism industry, with their daily spending effectively compensating for the shorter duration of their trips. Previously, it was reported that Israelis were investing millions of euros in Greek real estate.
