A "Selichot" (penitential prayers) ceremony was held at the "Ohel Avraham" institutions in the Kiryat Herzog neighborhood of Bnei Brak. The event was led by Rabbi Moshe Chizkiyahu, head of the institutions and the local rabbinical authority, and attended by Rabbi Masoud Ben Shimon, the Chief Rabbi of Bnei Brak.
Speakers at the ceremony, including Deputy Mayor and Education portfolio holder Rabbi Shlomo Elharar, emphasized the importance of the "Days of Mercy and Forgiveness" and spiritual preparation for the High Holy Days. They also highlighted the institutions' role as a focal point for the Kiryat Herzog community and its extensive educational and communal activities.
The highlight of the event was the participation of hundreds of children from the institutions, who gathered to recite the "Selichot" prayers with devotion and excitement as part of their preparation for Rosh Hashanah and the High Holy Days.
