Bnei Brak Hosts Inspirational Send-Off for Hundreds of Sephardic Students Entering Yeshiva

A significant and inspiring event titled "Provision for the Journey" was held this week in Bnei Brak for hundreds of eighth-grade students from Sephardic communities preparing to enter small yeshivas. The ceremony aimed to provide these young Torah students with practical tools, spiritual guidance, and encouragement to support their transition and growth in the yeshiva world during the upcoming month of Elul.

The event was led by Rabbi Masoud Ben Shimon, the city's chief rabbi and head of the yeshiva, who delivered warm blessings and words of encouragement. It was attended by yeshiva heads, supervisors, Talmud Torah principals, and educators from across Bnei Brak. The initiative was supported by the city's deputy mayors Rabbi Shlomo Elharar, responsible for education, and Rabbi Eliyahu Shoshan, responsible for culture, both representing the Shas party.

Also present were Rabbi Moshe Rosenthal, director of the city's education administration, and Rabbi Shimon Kashash, who manages the 360 program in collaboration with "Shivtei," a Shas-founded organization supporting yeshiva students in Bnei Brak. The event was skillfully moderated by Rabbi Michael Zechariah, an esteemed educator and host of the "Shaarei HaYeshiva" program.

During the gathering, the deputy mayors expressed their excitement and announced the students' integration into the supportive activities of the "Shivtei" organization. Each student received a special, value-based gift from the organization as a symbolic provision for their first days in the yeshiva halls. The event concluded with a moving moment as hundreds of students passed in orderly fashion before Rabbi Ben Shimon to receive his personal blessing for success in their Torah studies and spiritual ascent.
