Brothers Tyriis and Delano Asante Enjoy Strong Season Starts

While Maccabi Tel Aviv player Tyriis Asante has been a stable presence for the Israeli club since his arrival in the summer of 2024, his older brother, Delano Asante, is also experiencing a successful start to his season in the Dutch second division. Maccabi Tel Aviv has begun their league campaign with two victories, but Tyriis, a Dutch defender/winger, missed both matches due to health issues.

Delano, who plays primarily as a right winger, signed his first professional contract at age 25 in the summer of 2025 with MVV Maastricht, a team that has not played in the top Dutch league since 2000. ESPN introduced him at the time as "the older brother of Tyriis Asante from Maccabi Tel Aviv."

Despite an age difference and distance, the brothers maintain a close relationship. In November 2024, Delano missed a training session to attend his younger brother's match against Ajax at the Johan Cruyff Arena, expressing his excitement on social media.

MVV Maastricht has had a perfect start to their season, winning all four of their opening matches in the second division, positioning them for a potential automatic promotion. Delano has started in all four games and contributed an assist in the first match against Jong Utrecht.
