Female Soldiers Report Voyeurism on Golani Brigade Base

Female soldiers serving in rear positions within the Golani Brigade's 51st Battalion have reported multiple instances of being filmed in restrooms on their military base. According to the soldiers, in at least two separate incidents, they observed a hand holding a phone over the toilet stall window, recording them. In one attempt to apprehend the suspect, a soldier pursued the individual, but they managed to escape. The soldiers claim that despite reporting the incidents to their commanders after the first occurrence, they felt the situation did not receive an adequate response, leading to feelings of insecurity on the base. The IDF confirmed on Thursday, September 3rd, that the military police have launched an investigation into the matter. The findings will be forwarded to the military prosecution upon completion. The IDF emphasized its serious approach to any sexual offenses or violations. One of the affected soldiers recounted to N12 that approximately a month prior, after transferring to a new base, a soldier in a stall heard noises and saw a hand with a phone filming her from above through the window. Despite reporting this, no action was taken. Ten days later, after attempting to block the window with a trash bag and tape, the same hand and phone were observed again. Following this second incident, a meeting was held with all personnel, and apologies were made, but the soldier stated that within a day or two, the situation reverted to normal with no further action. Frustrated by the lack of a serious investigation, the soldiers decided to approach the media, stating they now fear using the base facilities.
