Disturbing Footage Reveals Failures in IDF Female Combat Unit Drill
Disturbing footage has emerged from a recent training exercise involving female soldiers in the elite Yahalom combat engineering unit of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), revealing a series of serious operational failures. The videos, obtained by Boaz Golan of "Ha'Ulpan Ha'Patuach" (The Open Studio), were reportedly provided by concerned officers within the unit.
Golan stated that if the exercise had represented a real combat scenario, the outcome would have been catastrophic, with a grim outlook for the soldiers' survival. He expressed deep disappointment and pain upon viewing the footage, emphasizing that he was giving voice to the concerns of soldiers, officers, and unit members.
The documented failures include a female soldier accidentally detonating a dummy mine on her own forces, a dummy grenade being thrown and absorbed by the training unit, and a simulated attacker easily surprising the female soldiers, who were then depicted as being easily neutralized. Golan asserted that such "experiments" on human lives must cease.
Ben Yaakov Sabo, a co-founder of the "Solalim Derech" initiative, commented that official documents from the "Dvora Forum" suggest the principle of equality is being prioritized over the value of victory and the need for Haredi integration into the IDF. He clarified that the criticism is not directed at the female soldiers themselves, acknowledging that male soldiers also make mistakes, but stressed the importance of considering the broader picture.
Attorney Chaya Malul argued that the issue begins in the Ministry of Education, where she believes a "progressive agenda" is indoctrinating girls into believing they are equal to men. She advocates for recognizing the distinct advantages of both genders and stated that the female soldiers are being misled into believing they can serve in units like Yahalom when, physically, they may not be capable. Malul called for this agenda to be removed from the Ministry of Education and subsequently from the IDF.
