Hapoel Holon Completes Roster with Sam Iorio Signing

Israeli-American forward Sam Iorio, 28, has signed with Hapoel Holon, completing the team's roster for the upcoming season. Iorio joins Holon after three seasons with Hapoel Be'er Sheva/Dimona, where he averaged 5.5 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game last season.

Iorio arrived in Israel in 2022 following the Maccabiah Games, where he won a gold medal with the U.S. team. His college career included two years at American University, averaging 14 points and 7 rebounds, followed by two years at the University of South Alabama and two years at Niagara University. In his senior year at Niagara, he recorded averages of 8 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists.

Holon's coach, Predrag Krunić, praised the signing, stating, "Sam is a player with three years of experience in our league. He is a power forward with good three-point shooting, team-oriented, and ready to play physically on both ends of the court, defensively and offensively."

Daniel Re'em, the club's professional manager, added, "We are very happy that Sam is joining us. An excellent and competitive person, a very tough player with good shooting. Sam has adapted very well to Israeli basketball, and now he is with us to take the next significant step in his career."
