Geely Boosts Electric Vehicle Range in Israel Without Price Increases
Chinese automaker Geely is significantly enhancing its electric vehicle offerings in Israel by increasing the driving range of two key models without raising their prices. The electric crossover EX5 will be renamed E5, with its PRO+ and TECH+ trims receiving an upgraded 68.39 kWh battery. This upgrade extends the E5's range to up to 475 kilometers on a single charge, according to the WLTP standard, maintaining current pricing.
In parallel, Geely is expanding its Starray EM-i plug-in hybrid lineup with a new, high-end ULTRA trim. This version features a 29.8 kWh battery, boosting its pure electric range from 83 km to 136 km. The Starray EM-i ULTRA also supports faster DC charging up to 60 kW, compared to 30 kW in existing versions, and offers a combined range of up to 996 kilometers.
The updated pricing for models now available in Israel is as follows: GEELY E5 PRO+ at 161,990 NIS, GEELY E5 TECH+ at 167,990 NIS, and the GEELY Starray EM-i ULTRA at 181,990 NIS.
These enhancements follow a period of substantial growth for Geely. In the first half of 2026, the brand secured the top position in passenger car retail sales in China. In Israel, Geely has also seen remarkable success, delivering 5,589 vehicles by the end of July, a 120% increase compared to the same period last year. Previously, Geely launched a program in Israel allowing customers to trade in their existing vehicles for their list price value when purchasing the EX5 (now E5) and Starray models, aiming to address trade-in value concerns.
