Maccabi Ironi Ramat Gan announced on Tuesday that guard Gil Beni has signed a two-year extension, the club’s first move since naming Elad Hasin head coach. The deal keeps Beni at the team for two more seasons.
Beni appeared in 23 of Ramat Gan’s 26 games last season. He averaged 6.2 points and 3.6 assists per game, and his best scoring outing came in April against Bnei Herzliya, when he scored 17 points in 22 minutes in a 104-88 loss.
After signing, Beni said he was “very happy and excited” to keep playing for a club that has become “a home” for him. He said he felt welcomed “with love and open arms” from the moment he arrived and stressed that continuity is important, especially at a club whose “Israeli spirit” is a central value he strongly identifies with.
Hasin, who coached Beni last summer at Hapoel Eilat before joining Ramat Gan, said he was pleased the guard would stay. “I know his character and abilities very well,” he said, adding that the continuity and connection were “natural and good” for both Beni and the club.
