Maccabi Ironi Ramat Gan announced on Tuesday that guard Gil Beni has signed a two-year contract extension, the club’s first move since appointing Elad Hasin as head coach. The deal keeps Beni at the team after his first season with the club.
Beni appeared in 23 of Ramat Gan’s 26 games last season. He averaged 6.2 points and 3.6 rebounds per game, and his best scoring performance came in April against Bnei Herzliya, when he scored 17 points in 22 minutes in an 104-88 loss.
After signing, Beni said he was “very happy and excited” to keep playing for a club that had become “a home” for him. He said he felt welcomed “with love and open arms” from the moment he arrived at Maccabi Knaan Ramat Gan, and stressed that continuity is especially important at a club like Ramat Gan, where “the Israeli spirit” is a central value he strongly identifies with.
Hasin, who coached Beni last summer at Hapoel Eilat before joining Ramat Gan, said he was very pleased that the guard, who contributed heavily last season, would remain with the team. “I know his character and abilities well,” Hasin said, adding that the continuity and connection were “natural and good” for both player and club.
