Toddler Escapes Kindergarten, Runs into Street; Mother Blasts Staff

A three-year-old boy named Ari reportedly escaped from his kindergarten in Ramla on Tuesday, the first day of the school year, and ran into a busy street. The incident, captured on security footage, shows the toddler narrowly avoiding being hit by a car. Ari's mother, Linoy Cohen, had left him at the kindergarten for an adjustment day and was informed about the escape 20 minutes later via a WhatsApp group message from other parents.

Cohen stated that no one from the kindergarten staff directly informed her about the situation. She learned the extent of the danger only when she reviewed security footage that evening, revealing Ari had been in the street for about a minute and a half. A passerby, a teenager, heard the boy crying for his mother and rescued him. Another mother recognized Ari and alerted a teacher's aide.

Cohen expressed deep distress and a breach of trust, stating, "I entrusted my treasure to a staff I thought I could rely on." She received an apology from the kindergarten but found the explanations unsatisfactory, feeling that no responsible party provided adequate answers. As a result, she decided not to send Ari back to kindergarten on Wednesday or Thursday.

The kindergarten staff initially told Cohen that her son had only been standing near the gate, a claim she disputes after seeing the video evidence. The incident has left her questioning the safety protocols and communication within the facility.
