Toddler Escapes Kindergarten, Runs into Street; Mother Blasts Staff

A three-year-old boy named Ari reportedly escaped from his kindergarten in Ramla on Tuesday, the first day of the school year, and ran into a busy street. Video footage shows the toddler running towards traffic, narrowly avoiding being hit by a vehicle. Ari's mother, Linoy Cohen, had left him at the kindergarten for an adjustment day and was informed about the escape 20 minutes later via a WhatsApp group message from other parents.

Cohen stated that she had entrusted her son to the kindergarten staff and felt her trust was broken because no one from the staff directly informed her of the incident. She learned the full extent of the danger only when she reviewed security footage that evening, revealing Ari had been in the street for about a minute and a half. Initially, she was told he had only been near the gate.

A teenager passing by heard Ari crying for his mother and rescued him. Another mother recognized the child and approached the teenager, then took the child to a kindergarten aide. Cohen expressed her dissatisfaction with the kindergarten's response, stating that while she received an apology, the explanations were insufficient and she felt no authorized person provided clear answers.

Distraught by the incident, Cohen decided not to send Ari back to kindergarten on Wednesday and plans to keep him home on Thursday as well. She emphasized her feeling of betrayal, stating, "I entrusted my treasure to a staff I rely on."
