Trump: Iran's Situation 'Not Good,' Confrontation Is a Matter of Time
U.S. President Donald Trump adopted a particularly tough stance against Iran, stating that the confrontation with Tehran is a matter of time due to their deteriorating situation. Speaking at a White House event, Trump outlined that American actions in the region serve broad interests, including protecting Israel, maintaining Middle East stability, and safeguarding U.S. security.
Trump asserted that the threat posed by Iran extends beyond Israel and regional nations, warning that Tehran, if given the opportunity, would first target Israel and could later threaten Europe and the United States itself. He characterized the campaign against Iran not as an isolated conflict, but as part of a larger effort to prevent Tehran from expanding its influence and destabilizing the regional balance of power.
The President also addressed the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, a vital global shipping and energy route, claiming significant U.S. control over the area. He noted that oil tanker traffic continues despite high tensions and fears of trade disruption, adding that Iran has thus far failed to make significant moves to alter the power balance or halt U.S. operations.
"Their situation is not good at all, it's only a matter of time," Trump stated, emphasizing that Iran's condition is worsening and pressure will continue. He further claimed that the U.S. has already inflicted substantial damage on Iranian capabilities, stating American forces have "destroyed a lot."
