Heated Clash Erupts Between Netanyahu Aides During Classified Documents Probe

A heated eight-minute confrontation occurred between Yonatan Urich, a senior advisor to the Prime Minister, and Eli Feldstein, the former spokesperson for the Prime Minister, during an investigation into classified documents. The core of the dispute centered on whether Urich saw a document that Feldstein received, knew its origin, and approved its transfer for publication in the German newspaper Bild.

Feldstein testified that after receiving the document from Ari Rosenfeld in Tel Aviv, he met Urich in Knesset. Feldstein claimed he presented Urich with three documents, including the one later sent to Bild. When asked if Urich saw the document, Feldstein stated, "Yes. Yonatan Urich held the document in his hand." He added that Urich knew the source, including that Feldstein had met with an IDF intelligence (AMAN) source, though not the source's name. Feldstein asserted Urich gave him permission to pass the document to "Chasid," whom he identified as Sheruli Einhorn, for publication by Bild journalist Paul.

Urich vehemently denied these claims. When presented with Feldstein's account, Urich responded, "Except for the fact that Paul did indeed come to interview the Prime Minister twice, the first time I saw the document in question was here, in this room." He insisted he had never seen it before or known its origin. The exchange escalated into a personal argument, with Feldstein accusing Urich of lying and Urich questioning why Feldstein was lying, stating it was harming him and causing his arrest.

Feldstein pressed his version, describing the laptop and documents on it during their alleged meeting. Urich slammed the table, shouting "Not true!" Investigators attempted to remove Feldstein, but the argument continued, with Feldstein repeatedly calling Urich a liar. Urich retorted that he would tolerate Feldstein's lies if they helped him, but they were only causing harm.

Ultimately, investigators ended the confrontation and removed Feldstein. A visibly upset Urich told an investigator, "I haven't seen my daughter for a week because of his lies," before throwing a chair. The investigator responded, "He is not lying."
