Heated Clash Over Classified Document Leak Revealed

A fierce confrontation between Yonatan Uriach, a senior advisor to the Prime Minister, and Eli Feldstein, a former spokesperson for the Prime Minister, has been revealed, centering on the leak of classified documents to the German newspaper Bild. Feldstein claims Uriach saw the secret document, knew its origin, and approved its transfer for publication. Uriach vehemently denies this, stating he saw the document for the first time during the interrogation.

The clash occurred in April 2025, after Feldstein had already been indicted in November 2024 for harming state security related to the document leak. The interrogation, which required special approval from the Attorney General and State Prosecutor, aimed to clarify Uriach's involvement. Feldstein testified that he received the document from Ari Rosenfeld, met Uriach at the Knesset, and showed him the papers, including the Bild document. He asserted that Uriach held the document and knew it came from an IDF intelligence source.

Feldstein further alleged that Uriach approved the document's transfer to "the Hassid," identified as Sherulik Einhorn, who would then pass it to the Bild journalist, Paul. Feldstein also claimed Uriach knew Paul, having arranged interviews for him with the Prime Minister and Ron Dermer. Uriach, however, insisted he had never seen the document before that interrogation room and did not know its source.

The confrontation escalated into shouting and personal accusations. Feldstein demanded Uriach look him in the eye and call him a liar, while Uriach accused Feldstein's statements of causing his arrest and personal suffering, including not seeing his daughter for a week. Despite investigators' attempts to intervene and separate them, the argument continued intensely, with Feldstein physically demonstrating how Uriach allegedly saw the document. At the end of the confrontation, an investigator told Uriach, "He is not lying."
