Antonio Sefer Joins Bnei Sakhnin on Loan from Bnei Raina
Midfielder Antonio Sefer has signed with Israeli Premier League club Bnei Sakhnin on loan from Bnei Raina. The move marks Sefer's return to the top flight after Bnei Raina was relegated last season. Initially, Bnei Raina had refused to release Sefer, despite interest from both Maccabi Petah Tikva and Bnei Sakhnin, but eventually agreed to let him join Sakhnin. This decision is expected to free up budget space for Bnei Raina to sign new players.
Sefer's arrival at Bnei Sakhnin is anticipated to allow the club to terminate the contract of Angolan player Norberto Carlos, who joined earlier in the summer. The 26-year-old Romanian joined Israeli football in the 2023-2024 season, playing for Hapoel Be'er Sheva before moving to Bnei Raina for the 2025-2026 season. This will be his third club in the Israeli Premier League, where he has so far recorded 54 appearances, scoring 13 goals and providing 11 assists.
