Man Convicted of Killing Teen in Nahariya in 2020 Sentenced to 25 Years in Prison

The Haifa District Court sentenced Lhal Khalo to 25 years in prison. He admitted and was convicted as part of a plea agreement of the intentional murder of 17-year-old Avi Tsitsuashvili in Nahariya in January 2020.

According to the amended indictment, Khalo and his accomplices planned to attack a man they had fallen out with and waited for him near his home. When they spotted him, they opened fire, but one of the bullets also struck the teenager, who happened to be passing by and was not connected to the dispute.

As part of the agreement, the original indictment, which had charged Khalo with murder under aggravated circumstances, was amended, and the parties jointly requested a sentence of 25 years in prison.
