Herzog Urges World Leaders to Respect Israeli Election Results

President Isaac Herzog stated in a CNN interview on Wednesday that the recent arrest of Hamas terrorist Muin Al-Arbid was a significant step towards achieving Israel's goals. Herzog detailed that Al-Arbid was specifically responsible for the conditions under which hostages were held in tunnels and led efforts to thwart a "Board of Peace" initiative aimed at installing a technocratic government in Gaza. This initiative, Herzog explained, sought to prevent Hamas's disarmament and removal from power.

Herzog expressed hope that following Israel's upcoming elections, a tangible horizon for Gaza will emerge, offering a better future for the region's children. He called on world leaders to respect Israel's democratic process and the decisions of the Israeli people, describing the elections as a period of deep introspection and purification for Israeli society in the wake of the October 7th attacks, the return of hostages, and battlefield achievements. He anticipates a high voter turnout.

Addressing violence in the West Bank, Herzog labeled the involved youth as a "stain on the face of the State of Israel," while acknowledging their right to legal defense. He reported that authorities are actively working to thwart such activities, with 10 to 12 suspects arrested in recent days. Herzog echoed U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike કેટલી's concerns about the violence but urged perspective, comparing Israeli efforts to combat the phenomenon to those of U.S. authorities tackling violence in American cities.
