Shlomi Saranga Postpones Israeli Shows Due to Hernia Surgery

Israeli-Greek singer Shlomi Saranga has announced a postponement of his upcoming Israeli concert series, originally slated to begin on October 16th, due to a medical issue. The delay, expected to be around two weeks, pushing the start to late October, is necessary because of an abdominal hernia requiring surgery and recovery time.

Saranga personally informed his fans via a statement, explaining, "I wanted you to hear it from me first. I know you've been waiting for this, and I'm also looking forward to returning to the stage. Apparently, I overdid it a bit with the weights at the gym. I developed a hernia in the abdominal area, and I need to undergo a minor surgery and give my body some time to recover properly." He reassured his followers that he would return to the stage with full energy and his popular songs.

Despite the change in his Israeli schedule, Saranga confirmed that his international commitments will not be affected. He recently announced a special winter concert series in Athens, scheduled to run on Sundays from November through March, which will proceed as planned.

Saranga, born in Tel Aviv, began his career in Greece, where he performed successfully for about a decade, developing his signature deep baritone voice. Upon returning to Israel in 2002, he gained widespread recognition with the hit "Halom Matok" (Sweet Dream) featuring Moshik Afia. He has since become known for popularizing the Eastern Laiko music style within the mainstream Israeli music scene, blending Greek and Mediterranean Hebrew music, and collaborating with artists like Rami Fortis and Yermi Kaplan.
