Police Disrupt Lavish Convoy Honoring Released Prisoner

Police in Haifa successfully thwarted a planned "convoy of honor" organized to celebrate the release of a prisoner from jail. The convoy was intercepted on Highway 4 near Kadima, where officers blocked the vehicles and detained those involved. Five suspects were arrested and taken for questioning at the Haifa police station. Following the investigation, they were released under restrictive conditions.

The operation, a joint effort between Haifa police, other police units, and prison service officers, was based on precise intelligence and prior preparation. The convoy was intended to be a show of support and a display of strength on major roads, but was stopped before it could proceed significantly.

Footage released by the police shows officers searching a luxury white BMW SUV, which was stopped on the side of the road with its hood and trunk open. Suspects are seen being detained on the sidewalk under close supervision by uniformed and plainclothes officers.

The Israel Police stated that this action is part of a broader operational strategy to prevent displays of support for criminals in public spaces. Law enforcement officials emphasized their commitment to acting decisively and with zero tolerance against such events to maintain public order and the safety of all Israeli citizens.
