Serbian forward Đorđe Jovanović is reportedly set to rejoin Serbian club Čukarički, the team where he first gained prominence before his move to Maccabi Tel Aviv. Jovanović's contract with Swiss club Basel was terminated, paving the way for his return to Čukarički, according to Meridian Sport. Serbian media are already buzzing about the transfer, with one outlet calling it "undoubtedly the club's biggest deal of the summer transfer window." Jovanović previously scored 11 goals in 15 league appearances for Čukarički before joining Maccabi Tel Aviv in February 2022. He spent last season on loan at Maccabi Haifa, netting three goals in 18 appearances, but was hampered by injury and fell out of the regular rotation. He now aims to recapture the form that made him a sought-after striker.
