Maccabi Tel Aviv ties season-ticket renewal to attendance from 2026/27
Maccabi Tel Aviv announced a new attendance policy for season-ticket holders that will begin in the 2026/27 season. The club said the move is meant to reduce empty seats at Bloomfield Stadium, which has been sold out in recent years amid very high demand, including thousands of supporters waiting for the chance to become season-ticket holders.
Under the new rules, a season-ticket holder who logs fewer than 13 attendances at home matches included in the package during the season may lose priority for renewing the ticket for 2027/28, at the club’s discretion. The club said the policy is designed to make better use of stadium seating and open up available seats to other fans.
Attendance will be counted not only when a fan enters a match with their own ticket, but also when they list the ticket for resale through the club’s official RESALE system, even if it is not actually sold. To qualify as attendance, the resale listing must be made no later than 24 hours before kickoff, unless the club announces a different deadline for a specific match.
Maccabi stressed that transferring a ticket to another user or handing it over outside the resale system will not count. In parallel, the club said it is improving the resale terms: starting in 2026/27, if a season-ticket holder’s ticket is actually sold through RESALE, they will receive a refund equal to that game’s proportional share of the season-ticket price. For example, someone who pays NIS 1,500 for 18 home games would get NIS 83.3 back for each game sold. The refund will be handled by Leaan according to its rules and procedures.
