Tirat Carmel Opens School Year With Record Enrollment

The school year in Tirat Carmel began on Tuesday with a record number of 6,824 students returning to kindergartens and schools across the city. The morning also marked an exciting start for 570 first-graders entering the school system for the first time. The municipal education system continues to grow with the city, serving approximately 1,700 children in 71 municipal kindergartens and additional frameworks, 3,274 students in 10 elementary schools, and 1,850 students in middle and high schools. A significant change this year is the relocation of the Efraim Tzemach elementary school to a new educational facility in the Nof Yam neighborhood, part of an expansion of educational infrastructure to accommodate the city's growth. Concurrently, the Yuval School for Special Education moved into the former Efraim Tzemach building, gaining a larger, more suitable space for its students. The opening followed extensive municipal preparations throughout the summer. The Tirat Carmel Municipality invested approximately NIS 7 million in renovations, upgrades, and infrastructure work at educational institutions, including classrooms, learning spaces, courtyards, facilities, and internet infrastructure, to ensure a safe, quality, and advanced learning environment.
