Suspected Terrorist Infiltration Near Zar’it Settlement Prompts Special Forces Deployment

Strikes in Lebanon. June 8, 2026 / According to Section. IDF forces, including special units, were rushed this evening, Wednesday, to the Lebanon border near the settlement of Zar’it, following the identification of suspicious movement. The suspected individual has not yet been identified and the incident is still under review.

Earlier, a terrorist opened fire at an IDF force near the fence in the Ramim Ridge area. A preliminary investigation shows that he infiltrated territory under Israeli control while carrying a weapon and a vest on his body. Officials in Northern Command described the incident as “very serious,” and said that an investigation will be opened, at the end of which dismissals are expected.

Following the incident, the Upper Galilee Regional Council instructed residents of the settlements of Misgav Am, Margaliot and Manara to follow the guidance of the local security coordinator and remain in their homes, not to move around the settlement. In addition, Route 886 from Yiftach to Manara was closed to traffic, and traffic was also blocked from the Tel Hai Junction up to Ramim Ridge.
