US Calls for Arrest of Those Involved in West Bank Violence

The U.S. State Department has called for the arrest and prosecution of individuals involved in recent riots in the West Bank village of Qusra. The incident, which occurred last weekend, saw dozens of Israeli settlers storm a Palestinian home, throwing stones at Palestinian civilians. A State Department spokesperson told i24NEWS that the U.S. condemns "criminal violence from any party in the West Bank" and is engaged in ongoing dialogue with partners to improve stability and security.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also condemned the "criminal acts of violence" in Qusra and the nearby village of Jalud, stating that the perpetrators were a small group of rioters who harm the reputation of law-abiding settlers and impede the IDF. He added that these actions are contrary to the values of the vast majority of settlers.

This incident follows a previous event in Qusra approximately three weeks ago, where Israeli attackers were described as "terrorists" by U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman. Following that incident, graffiti insulting Friedman was found on the walls of a mosque that had been set on fire in a Palestinian village in Samaria, reading "Friedman, greetings from the terrorists."
