Firefighters Battle Blaze Near Beit Meir, Homes Safe
Fire and rescue teams from the Beit Shemesh region are currently battling a blaze involving trees near the entrance to the moshav (cooperative agricultural community) of Beit Meir. The fire, which broke out earlier today, has impacted an antenna located close to the fire's epicenter. Security forces present at the scene evacuated soldiers from the vicinity as a precautionary measure due to the flames.
Firefighting crews are coordinating with the Electric Company to disconnect power in the area, a necessary step to allow firefighters to safely gain control of the fire. Despite the proximity of the blaze to the antenna and its damage, emergency officials have stated that there is currently no danger to homes within Beit Meir.
The operation is ongoing as firefighters work to contain the fire.
