PM's Wife's Interview Was Coordinated Campaign, Aide's Presence Reveals

An interview given by Sara Netanyahu to Channel 14, which sparked political controversy, was presented as a personal conversation. However, it has emerged that Topaz Luk, an advisor to the Prime Minister and the Likud party, accompanied Netanyahu during the filming.

The Likud party demanded and received the full raw footage of the interview before the edited version was broadcast. This suggests that Netanyahu's remarks about Yair Golan, implying he had prior knowledge of the October 7th attack, were not a spontaneous slip of the tongue but part of an organized campaign approved by the party for publication.

In the interview, Sara Netanyahu claimed that Golan, chairman of the "Democrats" party, was prepared and dressed early on October 7th, before others, including the Prime Minister, were aware of the impending attack. "You claim you are a fighter on October 7th, you were already there early in the morning, dressed and ready. At a very early hour, when others did not know, such as the Prime Minister."

These statements led to swift reactions. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu later clarified that "there was no betrayal on 7.10, there was a failure." Golan sent a warning letter to Sara Netanyahu demanding an apology and compensation, which was met with a counter-warning letter from her.

The fact that the Likud party obtained the complete raw materials before the broadcast indicates that Netanyahu's statement about Golan was not an off-the-cuff remark but a planned element of a Likud campaign.
