FBI Disrupts Hamas Financial Network, Seizes Crypto Funds
The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the FBI has dismantled Hamas's online fundraising and propaganda network. The operation resulted in the seizure of over $560,000 in cryptocurrency and the takeover of servers and domains used by the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas's military wing.
According to the U.S. Department of Justice, this infrastructure was instrumental in Hamas's global efforts to solicit donations, move funds outside conventional financial systems, and recruit new supporters. The disruption allowed investigators to intercept additional donations and gather intelligence on thousands of individuals who had contacted, donated to, or attempted to support Hamas through both cryptocurrency and traditional payment methods.
The operation targeted the financial and propaganda apparatus of the organization, aiming to disrupt its ability to fund its activities and spread its message.
