Far-Right Leader Slams General, Urges Him to Join Political Party

Moshe Feiglin, who announced a union with Bezalel Smotrich's Otzma Yehudit party on Tuesday, criticized IDF General Ofer Winter in a radio interview, stating, "We've had enough of generals." Feiglin argued that Winter's military experience does not necessarily translate to new political ideas and urged him to join their party, even offering to relinquish the second spot on their electoral list for him.

Smotrich himself had previously called for Winter to join the party on Channel 14's 'HaPatriotim' program. Feiglin and Smotrich issued a joint statement emphasizing their alliance as the first step in uniting the national camp, leaving the door open for other parties, factions, and individuals from the right to join. Their stated goal is to form the broadest possible right-wing bloc, consolidate fragmented parties, and ensure that right-wing votes translate into political power for a strong right-wing government.

Smotrich described the upcoming elections as critical for the future of the national camp and Israel, highlighting key issues such as security, settlement, the justice system, preventing a Palestinian state, and enacting necessary national changes. He stressed the importance of taking responsibility for the entire camp, not just one's own party, by uniting forces and expanding the movement to prevent right-wing votes from being wasted.
