Vizhnitz Celebration Turns Jubilant as Rebbe Leads Dancing and Chanting
Hundreds of Hasidim and community figures took part on Sunday in the engagement celebration of the groom, the shared grandson of the Vizhnitz Rebbe and the Gaavad of Wallova in the United States, to the bride, the granddaughter of the Gorlitz and Shedlitz Rebbes. The main festivities were held in the great study hall of the Vizhnitz community in Kiryat Vizhnitz, Bnei Brak.
During the celebration, a distinguished line of rebbes and rabbis from the families of the two sides arrived one after another to share in the occasion. The event was described as a major family celebration in honor of a righteous household.
Near the end, the hall reached an especially emotional peak when the singers broke into the song that the rebbe has adopted in the past two years, “There is a Creator, there is.” The rebbe strongly encouraged the singing and gestured to a group of young Hasidim to dance a kadzke dance in front of the eastern side of the hall.
Afterward, the Vizhnitz Rebbe danced enthusiastically with the groom, and later brought the other rebbes and the families of the in-laws into the dance circle, while hundreds of Hasidim sang loudly around them.
