Israeli Defense Firms Rank Among World's Top 30

Three major Israeli defense companies, Elbit Systems, Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, have been ranked among the top 30 largest defense companies globally by the American magazine Defense News. This achievement places Israel third in the world for defense company rankings, following only the United States and China.

Elbit Systems, ranked 21st, also announced a new international contract worth approximately $270 million. This deal, to be executed over up to six years, involves the supply of advanced intelligence, surveillance, and targeting systems from the SPECTRO family, incorporating AI technologies, as well as AMPS NG systems for aerial intelligence and targeting. Elbit Systems currently holds a record backlog of $32 billion in orders as of the end of the second quarter.

Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, ranked 30th, improved its standing from 31st place last year, joining Elbit and IAI (ranked 27th) in the elite global group. The combined defense-specific revenues of these three Israeli companies exceed $20 billion annually, solidifying Israel's position as a small but influential defense powerhouse.

Lockheed Martin of the United States leads the global rankings with revenues of around $72 billion.
