Amit Segal Accuses MK Tali Gottlieb of Lying, Self-Interest

Israeli journalist Amit Segal launched a sharp attack on Likud MK Tali Gottlieb on Tuesday, accusing her of dishonesty and prioritizing her political future. Segal released a video detailing three main accusations against Gottlieb, claiming he had proof she was not telling the truth about her political intentions and potential offers from other parties.

Segal's first claim was that Gottlieb was lying when she stated she had not threatened the Prime Minister and was not considering other offers. He asserted that he possessed evidence on his phone, which he was using to record the video, that contradicted her statements. He further alleged that Gottlieb's primary concern was herself, suggesting her ideological stances shifted after she was disappointed with her performance in the Likud primaries.

Segal's third accusation was more pointed, framing Gottlieb as an example of how loyalty can be betrayed. He recalled that the Netanyahu family had actively supported Gottlieb's election in previous primaries, working full-time to ensure her success. However, he claimed, she was now working against their interests, implying a betrayal of that support. Segal concluded his video with a message to the Netanyahu family, advising them to be cautious about who they promote, suggesting that the loudest voices are not always the most reliable.

The controversy arose after Gottlieb stated her desire for the 12th spot on the Likud list but also indicated openness to concrete offers from parties she respected. She later specified that she was considering an offer from the Otzma Yehudit party and expressed her ambition to serve as Justice Minister.
