Sister of missing Heimnot Kassa receives civil service honor from the president
Nineteen-year-old Yaros Kassau, the older sister of kidnapped child Heimnot Kassau, received an excellence award for national-civil service at a ceremony attended by President Isaac Herzog. The honor recognized her work through the Volunteer Association, where she has continued serving and contributing to Israeli society despite her family’s painful and difficult situation.
The family has been fighting for information about Heimnot’s whereabouts, while Yaros has become a central support figure at home. Alongside her intensive national service, she helps her parents every day and takes part in caring for and raising her younger brothers and sisters.
Yaros came to the state ceremony at the President’s Residence with close family members, including her father, Tesfaye, and her 14-year-old sister, Fortuna, who came to celebrate her achievement. The family also met privately with Herzog during the event.
According to the report, the president listened to the family, expressed strong support and appreciation for Yaros’s work, and encouraged the father and sisters as they continue coping with the disappearance of the youngest daughter.
