Zeut Party Leader Demands Netanyahu Lead Defense Ministry
Moshe Feiglin, chairman of the Zeut party, stated in an interview on Channel 14's "HaPatriotim" program that he will demand Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu head the Ministry of Defense. Feiglin's primary motivation, he explained, is to prevent a repeat of the October 7th events and to avoid the establishment of a left-wing government.
Feiglin affirmed his commitment to the right-wing bloc, stating, "We are doing all this to not lose votes in the right-wing bloc, we don't want a left-wing government." He also confirmed that his party will recommend Netanyahu for prime minister.
Feiglin revealed that he has been working for over a year to unite right-wing parties, initiating contact with Bezalel Smotrich, Itamar Ben-Gvir, and Avi Wiener on August 15th. He described the ongoing negotiations with Smotrich's "Religious Zionism" party as being in their final stages.
He detailed a "generous" offer made to Religious Zionism, proposing seven spots within the top ten of their joint list. Feiglin stated he would take the second position, with the rest of the Zeut list starting from eighth place, questioning who else would make such a concession.
