Father Claims Son's Tattoos Cost Him Spot on Maccabi Haifa
Yehuda Hatuuel, father of aspiring footballer Rotem Hatuuel, publicly questioned Maccabi Haifa's decision-making after his son was apparently overlooked for a place on the team. Hatuuel suggested that his son's tattoos might be the reason he wasn't considered good enough, lamenting what he called "Israeli football at its finest."
"With all due modesty, 80% of the players don't have what you have in your legs," Yehuda Hatuuel wrote in a social media post, addressing his son. "To think that... sorry, you have tattoos so you're not good enough for them."
Rotem Hatuuel is currently without a club. Last season, he played for Hapoel Haifa, scoring three goals and providing two assists. He is also known for his time at Hapoel Be'er Sheva, where he scored 40 goals.
The comments came after Maccabi Haifa's 3-1 loss to Maccabi Tel Aviv on Monday, a game in which the Haifa team struggled to make an impact for extended periods.
