Noam Party Protests Soldier Arrests Over Religious Observance
The Noam Party is holding a protest rally Monday night at 9:00 PM outside Prison 10, following the arrest of Golani Brigade soldiers. The party claims the soldiers were detained solely for adhering to their religious practices and way of life.
Rabbi's, yeshiva deans, and public figures are expected to attend the demonstration. Participants will call on military authorities to allow religiously observant soldiers to maintain their lifestyle during their military service.
The organizers stated, "It cannot be that in the army of the Jewish state, observing Halakha (Jewish law) is considered a criminal offense." The protest is specifically in response to the arrests of the Golani soldiers and to demand that religious soldiers be permitted to uphold their traditions while serving.
