Noam Party Protests Soldier Arrests Over Religious Observance

The Noam party announced it will hold a protest rally outside Prison 10 at 9 PM on Tuesday. The demonstration is in response to the arrest of several Golani Brigade soldiers. According to the party, the rally aims to support "Torah-observant" soldiers and advocate for their right to maintain their religious lifestyle while serving in the military.

The organizers stated that rabbis, yeshiva deans, public figures, and a large crowd are expected to attend. They intend to call on military authorities to allow soldiers who observe religious commandments to continue their practices during their service. The party's statement emphasized that observing Jewish law should not be considered a criminal offense within the army of a Jewish state.

This protest follows a reported incident where Golani Brigade soldiers allegedly refused to board an Namer armored personnel carrier if a female paramedic was present. Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has publicly supported the soldiers involved in that incident.
